Nicht nur die Wölfe sind Opfer von Bushs Brutalo-Politik, sondern u.a. die ganze Umwelt: Schnell noch fette Privilegien für die Industrie schaffen, z.B. Ölschieferabbau in sensiblen Gebieten...

Dear xxx,
It’s a terrifying proposition. Eliminating Endangered Species Act Protections for wolves in the Northern Rockies and parts of Greater Yellowstone -- as the outgoing Bush/Cheney Administration did Wednesday -- could lead to the slaughter of nearly 1,000 wolves.
Help Defenders save these wolves from shooting, trapping and even aerial gunning. Make a secure donation online now to our Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone Wolf Defense Fund...
Earlier this year, Bush/Cheney officials briefly removed these same protections, resulting in a killing spree that claimed the life of Limpy -- one of Greater Yellowstone’s most beloved wolves -- and more than 100 other wolves in the Greater Yellowstone Region.
We stopped the Bush/Cheney Administration earlier this year and -- with your help -- we can do it again.
Please make a tax-deductible donation now to help support our wolf-saving work.
Since Wednesday:
* Our expert legal team has begun preparations for what is expected to be a long, expensive court challenge to the Bush/Cheney delisting plan;
* Our government relations team contacted Congressional champions to alert them to the threat and discuss ways to prevent the renewed killing;
* Our senior staff reached out to decision makers close to the incoming Obama Administration, appealing for their assistance in overturning the Bush/Cheney wolf plan; and
* Our field staff has spoken out through numerous articles and interviews in defense of wolves and appealing for a science-based regional wolf plan that will guarantee the future of a healthy wolf population in the region.
These efforts will increase in coming days, along with on-the-ground wolf conservation efforts in the Northern Rockies. We’ll keep working with ranchers, speaking at local community meetings, talking with teachers and students and countering anti-wolf extremists with sound science and solid facts.
To maintain this intensive campaign and save hundreds of wolves threatened by the Bush/Cheney Administration’s deadly wolf plan, we need to raise $125,000 by January 31st. Will you help with whatever contribution you can make?
Please make an emergency tax-deductible donation now to help support our Campaign to Save Wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies and other efforts to safeguard the lives of America’s wildlife.
This is a tough fight, but we know how to win tough fights… especially when the lives of so many wolves are at stake. Please support our work and help prevent the slaughter.
For the Wild Ones,
Rodger Schlickeisen, President

Ähnliches kam vom NRDC:
Zitat: |
Dear xxx,
We warned you it could happen soon -- and it has.
In a cruel parting shot before leaving office, the Bush Administration has stripped wolves in Idaho and Montana of their Endangered Species protection -- leaving them at the mercy of two states that are gunning for them.
Hundreds of wolves are effectively on death row. As soon as the hunting seasons begin and "Open Fire" orders are issued, state officials and hunters will fan out through Greater Yellowstone and Central Idaho in search of an animal that should be on the Endangered Species list.
NRDC is racing to court to stop this slaughter before it can begin.
As you know, this is the second time that the Bush Administration has removed federal protections from wolves in the Northern Rockies.
Last spring, more than 110 wolves were brutally killed in as many days. The wolf-killing rampage only stopped after NRDC and 11 other conservation groups prevailed in federal court -- thanks to your support!
We must win again -- because the plight of wolves has never been more dire. Yellowstone's wolf population has already declined, as wolf pups die of a yet-to-be-determined disease.
The bottom line is: Greater Yellowstone's wolves urgently need and deserve federal protection.
And thanks to your steadfast support, they will have NRDC attorneys -- America's toughest wildlife advocates -- fighting for them. I will be sure to share any new developments with you as this case progresses.
Thank you for caring so deeply about the plight of wolves -- and standing with us in their defense.
Sincerely,
Frances
